Our 9th AGM was held on 13 April 2013 at EHCL. Two significant actions occurred. The London Support Group has been split out formally from the Committee and we also have a new Chairman. Yvonne Kolesar stood down as Chairman of the TMS Committee, but will continue as the Leader of the London Support Group. Barbara Babcock and Rob Reeves were re-elected to the Committee and Barbara was elected to be the new Chairman. Barbara went through the priorities for 2013.
Minutes are available for downloading here. Our 9th Annual General Meeting will be held at EC Harris, 34 York Way, London N1 9AB (next to Kings Cross Station), on Saturday 13th April, at 1:45 for 2:00 pm. All members are invited to attend the AGM and to elect the 2013 TMS Committee and express your opinion about what you want TMS to be doing in the coming year. If you are unable to attend the meeting and you would like to make a comment or suggestion, you can email Lew Gray ([email protected] or use the Contact page), with your message and he will read it out at the AGM.
TM Awareness day is not far away. Raise awareness, possibly some money and have fun!! This is 'our' day to work together to raise the profile of TM. By raising awareness, we hope that rapid diagnosis of TM will be more frequent and that everyone will be given the support necessary for coping with the long term symptoms of TM. We want to encourage people to hold events for family and friends, on or around 9th June. Click here to read about fun things to do and why the events are so important to us. We're suggesting a 'TeaM Party' theme, bringing to mind cups of tea, cakes and biscuits. Have information available for guests to read and ask for a donation to raise money. Get started now planning your event. It needn’t be limited to a tea party. How about a garden sale or stall in you local Sunday market? Last year members did sponsored cycle rides, had plant sales, cleared out sheds and let go of blue balloons. How about a BBQ? Read more about last year's awareness events on page 4 of Issue 1 of the TMS Magazine.
