Stuck for ideas?
There are lots of things you can do - big and small. Whatever you decide on, make sure it is something you believe will make a difference and enjoy doing! If sport and fitness is your thing, you could do a sponsored run, cycle, walk or pilates marathon. Visual: food fundraiser Family activities always go down well, so look into getting together with your local school or club to organise an event for all the family and get the children involved. Visual: Family event If raising awareness amongst health professionals is your top priority, why not hand out TM Society leaflets and magazines, or set up an information stall with a friend or family member at a local hospital and be on hand to share your experiences. If you would prefer to write, download the Introductory Letter and drop your local a line to your local health and social care professionals to help them understand how they can help people living with TM and related conditions. Visual: pic of person being handed a magazine If you’re a carer, check if your local carers group is planning something because Awareness Day 9th June falls within Carers Week 2015. A simple idea for celebrating Awareness Day itself is to wear a TM Society ribbon pin, t-shirt or wrist band, or change your Facebook photo to the TM ribbon logo for the day, to make your colleagues and friends aware. Order yours here. Search the Awareness Day map for more ideas. |
